The British Network in Vietnam (British Embassy Hanoi / British Consulate-General HCMC) is seeking a dynamic professional for the Trade Manager position within the Business, Innovation, Science and Technology (BIST) team.

Key Information

• Salary: VND 42,873,000 (gross per month)

IMPORTANT NOTE:

• This vacancy is advertised as a full-time, temporary maternity cover role until 20 September 2027.
• Location: Based in either Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, with occasional travel required between both cities and other locations as needed.

Role Overview & Responsibilities

Healthcare and Life Sciences form a vital pillar in the bilateral partnership between the UK and Vietnam, driving a major share of UK exports. In this role, you will champion the UK’s healthcare and life sciences offerings, fostering partnerships and facilitating market access.

1. Deliver Strategic Trade Opportunities (25%)
   • Build stakeholder engagement plans with key sources of opportunities for UK companies.
   • Lead on healthcare strategy and collaborate closely with Healthcare UK and the British Chamber of Commerce to connect British businesses with export opportunities.
   • Track export wins and provide quarterly activity updates.
2. Deliver Successful Trade Promotional Activity (25%)
   • Support and lead trade missions, VVIP visits, seminars, webinars, and networking receptions.
3. Trade Policy and Market Access (25%)
   • Identify non-tariff barriers facing UK companies in the HCLS sector and work with trade policy colleagues to advocate for solutions with local government authorities.
   • Maintain tracking records of ongoing issues and coordinate with DBT HQ in London.
4. Lead BIST Healthcare Projects (25%)
   • Apply project management methodologies to deliver projects on time and within budget.
   • Collaborate across teams within the diplomatic mission to strengthen bilateral cooperation and champion equitable access to healthcare.

Candidate Requirements

• Proactive, self-starting approach capable of delivering under tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Existing network of industry contacts within the healthcare sector in Vietnam or a proven ability to build one rapidly.
• Strong interpersonal, networking, and public event management skills.
• Experience working alongside Vietnamese government agencies and local authorities, ideally within the healthcare domain.
• IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
• Desirable: Familiarity with UK business culture and international work experience.
