How to get to Buda Castle FREE – Budapest travel hack
Funicular is 4,500 HUF one-way / 5,500 HUF return, 08:00-22:00, long line.
Free route I used:
📍 Enter at 4 Ybl Miklós tér – black iron gates
→ Up the ramp or stairs on either side
→ Pass the small wall fountain
→ Keep going to the big round fountain with statue
→ Turn RIGHT at that fountain, walk to the end
→ Brown-roof escalator + elevator lift – free to Buda Castle
Garden open 6:00-24:00 daily, free. Southern Palaces 10:00-17:30 Tue-Sun.
