Why you shouldn’t miss Munich’s 12 o’clock tradition!

Every single day at 11 AM and 12 PM (and 5 PM in summer), hundreds of people gather in front of the Neues Rathaus at Marienplatz for one of Europe’s most iconic historical shows: the Munich Glockenspiel.

Built in 1908, this incredible mechanical clock features 43 bells and 32 life-sized motorized figures that bring 16th-century Bavarian history to life right above the crowd:
