Don’t buy second hand clothes in Tokyo until you visit this spot. 🧥🇯🇵
Most tourists only go to Shimokitazawa or Harajuku, but this is my absolute go-to spot for vintage in Tokyo: the railway arcades between Ueno and Okachimachi.
Trains rumble right above your head every couple of minutes while you dig through hidden gems:
👜 Second-hand luxury bags & watches — fully authenticated with condition grades clearly marked on the tags before you even ask
🧥 Massive walls of real leather jackets — compare heavy stiff cowhide and soft lambskin side-by-side
🪖 Regular vintage racks & military jackets without glass cases — this is where locals actually buy
💵 Pro tip: Bring cash! A lot of these classic stalls still don’t take cards
⏰ Visit on a weekday before lunch — it gets packed in the afternoon
📍 Ameyoko Shopping Street / Under the JR tracks (between Ueno & Okachimachi)
🚃 1 min walk from JR Ueno Station or JR Okachimachi Station
🕒 Most shops open around 11:00 – 19:30
